So much happening

Well, I think the last two weeks has been pretty exciting!

I have received the first part of the reloaded Dark Dimensions back and I can only thank my editor profusely. Also, Jonathan Kenneth of iFlow Creative. Without his input, this book wouldn’t be as good as it’s become.

So, my editor has part 2 and I’ve been reformatting part 1 in Atticus.

My cover artist has been working hard on some concepts so I just have to work out my next steps to getting part 1 onto Amazon.

Dark Reign still stands ready to go and I have someone beta reading The Dark Road.

Now, there may be another book in between Dark Reign and The Dark Road, but some of the questions that have come up in Dark Dimensions Part 1 might actually be answered in Part 2. This might mean that the new book is an anthology of short stories that cover the years between Dark Reign and The Dark Road. It’s all still a growing concept at this point.

We will be away during the first 2 weeks of September, so there may be 3 weeks between this post and the next post. I haven’t forgotten everyone, however, and I’ll most likely have photos to share in the next post. I will be doing a lot of writing and thinking while I’m away – probably taking lots of notes because I’ll take the Remarkable with me.

Until next time, I hope everyone has a great day, week, fortnight!

A bold move

Well, okay, probably not bold to lots of people.

I bought Atticus – the software for books. I have formatted Dark Reign ready for Ebook publication, so that’s ready to go – I think? Love second guessing myself!

Clans in Conflict

The editor is half-way through editing Dark Dimensions Part 1 and Part 2 is waiting to be sent. I also have my cover artist looking at artwork for Dark Dimensions.

The Dark Road – yes, I have written the 3rd book – is currently being beta read and I’ve heard good and exciting reports about it.

Consequences

I have mostly rewritten parts of Heart of Deception and Legacy of Risks but still have more to go. I will be completely changing the opening scenes of Heart of Deception but I have to have my head in the right place. (fingers crossed September)

I’d like to thank everyone who reads these little snippets of mine. I hope they’re entertaining and give you something to look forward to.

Getting closer

Dark Dimensions Part 1 is with the editor now.

I have completed my editing of Dark Dimensions Part 2 and just waiting for Part 1 to be completed before I send it to the editor.

I am quickly going through Dark Reign to catch just a few typos, then that will be ready once Dark Dimension has been released.

I have a beta reader checking The Dark Road, so hopefully that will be out after Dark Reign.

Yes, I’ve been a very busy beaver!

As I said, the next series is the Consequences series.

It’s happening

Okay, it will happen. I am going to go down the self-publish route, however, instead of starting with Dark Reign, I will be starting with the Second Edition of Dark Dimensions.

This is now a two volume book as when I went to remove a lot of wastage in it, I found in other areas it was very much lacking detail where detail should have been. Thus, the split of the book.

I have heard it is split in the correct place, but I will be sending the first half to my editor soon and double-check with her on her thoughts of whether it is split in the right place.

I have also engaged a cover artist living here in Perth, so I’m very pleased to say I will be supporting local artists. The idea is to get a cover that reflects some of what the current cover is as well as Dark Reign’s cover. We’ll see what they come up with, though.

As I said, once Dark Dimensions has been edited, I will go back over the third book, which is known as The Dark Road and once happy with that will send that to the editor as well.

Then I will be revamping the Consequences Series, so the books that introduced everyone to the small island country of Albermarle will be better than they currently are.

Stay tuned for more news!

Decision

Oooh, sounds ominous, I know. It’s not, though.

I’ve decided to drop my updates to once a fortnight for now. Until things start to pick up.

I’ve got about 3 weeks before I hear back from the publisher, so hopefully I’ll know whether I go down the path with them or continue on as a self-publisher by August.

I apologise for the lack of speed that has been going, but I think checking this last publishing company will be the best way to go for me.

Thank you for your support and I’ll keep posting. 🙂

Small Update

I have completed editing on Dark Dimensions part 2. I am giving myself a few days without even looking at it, then I will go through it and ensure I’ve updated everything in it.

It’s been a rocky road over the last year or so, but we’re coming out of it. I have forwarded Dark Dimensions part 1 to a publisher, but have yet to hear back. I’ll see how they go with it.

I hope to have more updates soon.

A small update

Okay, my small update is that I have taken the next step to get Dark Reign finalised, including cover art.

I have to say, I haven’t been doing a lot – it’s been far too cold. I think Perth is going through an Antarctic winter. I don’t remember winter being this cold in a looooooong time. Fingers find it difficult to work but at least we get lots of cuddles from the cats – when they’re not in front of the fire!

Update

I do have a quick update.

I have completed editing of Dark Dimensions Part 1 and am starting on Part 2.

I hope to have it finished very soon.

Once I have finished that I will move back to the third book – The Dark Road.

And then, back to the Consequences series.

Hopefully, there’ll be a change soon to various things.

Oh, I did find one great tool for Australian writers – the Australian Government Style Manual. It gives brilliant information on formatting, punctuation and grammar! It’s for Australians, though, so people from overseas may be confused by it at times. But that’s okay. If you’re not Australian and you want to read it, feel free to. Grow your mind.

Short and Sharp

Amazon Update

Well, it looks like the books are not available on Amazon US anymore, so I have emailed Amazon Australia to get them to remove them from their site.

I will let you know when I’ve heard more.

Sorry about how short and sharp this post is!
