Hello 2026

Yes, it’s finally here! And so is the heat! What the hell? That’s what it feels like, anyway. But we can’t complain. I’m just gonna make sure the spa is okay tomorrow and maybe laze in it on Tuesday arvo. Oh, wait, Tuesday’s supposed to be cooler – 32°C, so maybe not.

I don’t have a lot of news to share apart from the heat and that it’s 2026! Although I do wonder where 2025 went. I feel like one minute we were in Awaba (September 2025) and the next it was 2026!

Anyway, that’s life!

Updates

Clans in Conflict

For those who don’t know much about it, this is a series about a clan that is lost travelling through dimensions due to a scientific experiment gone horribly wrong and about the city-state Part 2 concludes in.

Dark Dimensions Part 1 and 2 is recounting that journey to Torkandisch. Dark Reign is the next book in the series and covers the next 12 months in the city-state.

The Dark Road is back with the beta readers. This story takes place about 16 years later. Lots in Torkandish has changed and there is lots of intrigue and heartache throughout this book. Some funny instances, too.

But Dark Beginnings will take us back to where it all started in Tordun, covering Vlad’s rise to power and, perhaps, that fateful experiment, along with the first 15 years of dimension-hopping. Dark Beginnings is still on the backburner. I have started this and I will return to it.

So, that’s what’s in store for anyone who wishes to immerse themselves in this world.

There are also going to be other stories, along with a special edition of Dark Dimensions where the two parts are combined. That will be in the future.

Speaking of other stories, Deadly Convergence is centred on Torkandisch 5 years before the Clan lands in the city-state and follows a crime that twists into something else. This is available only on Kindle and on Kindle Unlimited.

The Ryan Locke story has gone through two more edits and I’ll be having a read of it and possibly applying the Emotion Thesaurus to it in a week or two. Then it’ll go for editing, cover art and publishing!

Consequences

This series follows the rise of Marek from a mastermind thief to the saviour of a nation.

Heart of Deception is now available through Amazon and Draft2Digital. And an update on that is that the 10 copies ordered came through early, so there will be a copy donated to Midland Library, as well.

Legacy of Risks will follow in the next few months, once cover art is finalised for it. The reason why it will take a few months is because I’m applying The Emotion Thesaurus options to it.

Dangerous Heart will then go to beta readers.

Watch this space.

There will be some short stories come out and, possibly, a fourth book that covers events much later after Dangerous Heart. Definitely a “watch this space” moment.

Other Universes

Strefinobhan

With Heart of Deception released and my work on the Otherworldly Emergence series coming to a conclusion, I should be able to get back into editing the first book of this series and sending it to beta readers. I am still unable to say when this will happen, but hopefully sooner rather than later.

Paranormal

Again, this will have to wait until work on the Otherworldly Emergence series is completed. One of my paranormal pieces, however, is in the Emergence series, so stay tuned for updates there.

Speaking of which, you can find the Otherworldly Emergence information at the website below.

Bushland Castle Productions

I have finished editing one novella, Not your Normal Heroes. I am still editing the other and will have that editing finished by the end of the week.

Both stories have gone through beta readers and I am awaiting the feedback from one. Once that comes in, I’ll study the feedback and make what changes I can, then it will go to copy editing.

Pitches for this novella series has now closed and we are working hard on our manuscripts to bring them to you in a timely manner.

All of the information regarding the novella series is at the website:

https://www.bushlandcastleproductions.com/emergence

BCP is planning its next series, which will build on the Otherworldly Emergence but this time will be Otherworldly Origins. Stay tuned for further information regarding that (along with a link).

While you’re on the website, is information about their nonfiction series Australia: Living in the 70s. If you have a life story about living in the 70s in Australia, check the website for more details on that series. I know if I were to submit, it would all be about CountDown, Sandman vans and learning about Unionism through school (and other things, of course).

Also check out their podcast – Finding Elara. Learn about Mindfulness from other creatives – not just writers, but other creative persons, as well as worldbuilding and other information. BCP are about to start on their 3rd season of the podcast, so stay tuned for updates on that.

At the end of each segment, there’s a prize drawn. Go in to win books and other goodies!

Not only that, but Finding Elara has just made it onto YouTube. There is a Halloween special up that features one of my short ghost stories being read out live. So, just search for Finding Elara and have a listen. I’m the one in the blue hat.

Grow Write

Once every fortnight, Grow Write meets at the Midland Library in Midland, Perth, Western Australia. We are very excited to announce that our very first anthology is now going through the finalisation of publishing and we expect copies to be available later in January. Watch this space!

Reviews/constructive feedback/critiques

This is a pet project of mine – to remind writers and authors that reviews, feedback and critiquing can be a writer’s best aid in their craft.

I am of the opinion – and this is my opinion only – that we should do everything we can to improve our writing as we go. This means learning from the best people and learning from mistakes we make.

This is where beta readers come in handy. They help find plot holes, inconsistencies, parts in the work that needs more attention and characters/settings that just don’t work. They also find the opposite, those characters that work really well, the settings and plots that do and what they love and what they hate.

This can help the final product become the shining piece of art you, as a writer or author, longs for it to be.

The same goes for reviews. These can consist of constructive feedback. It is up to us to dissect that feedback and see what can improve the story to get that high level of perfection.

Another point of assistance is critiquing. This can happen with an online group or an in‑person writing group. In Grow Write, we do this at every meeting and I know it greatly assists my writing – because having someone read your work out gives a totally different viewpoint and it helps a writer/author in understanding what their reader gets from reading our book.

So, take those not-so-positive reviews and beta reads and put them to good use in perfecting your work and refining your writing prowess. I am very grateful to these types of feedbacks and reviews and critiquing because they help me grow my talent in writing.

This is something I feel strongly about and hope others can see what I have learnt in my own books.

New financial year

Yep, you can tell it’s a new financial year! For those creating invoices, profit & loss sheets are now in a new year. Yeah, I’m grousing!

Our weather has turned sharply cold again but the fire is nicely keeping us warm.

On the bright side, I have some new beta readers who are currently working on various books for me. I am very grateful to them!

Okay, updates.

Clans in conflict

Deadly Convergence is still available here.

Still editing the other Kindle Unlimited book.

The Dark Road is still with the beta reader, although I may have another option there.

Dark Beginnings – I am still working on this but it is a little on the backburner at the moment.

Bushland Castle Productions

The novella series of Otherworldly Emergence closes in July.

All of the information necessary is at the website:

https://www.bushlandcastleproductions.com/emergence

Join me in being part of this amazing opportunity.

Consequences

Heart of Deception is currently with the cover artist prior to being published. Can’t wait for that to come through.

Legacy of Risks is now with a few beta readers, so when I get that back I’ll update that with any changes necessary.

Paranormal

I have gotten back into my ghost hunter/daemon hunter story. I have yet a few things to work out, but I am writing in it.

For those curious about the spelling of daemons, yes, they are demons, but not of this world. They come from Nina’s world, therefore they are “different”.

Shifters

These are currently on the backburner while Aleksander and Blair work out where their story is going.

Malevictus

Let’s not talk about editing. I am struggling to edit this one. I need to edit it, I know that, but it’s just not there for me. It’s a matter of digging in and getting it done. (sigh) This hasn’t changed.

On other news about that, the second book is coming along.

Rules of writing

I often see things that purport to the “10 Rules of Writing” or “Follow these 10 rules and your book will sell”. These are often not rules.

In the words of either Stephen King or G R R Martin, there are no “rules” to writing.

Some of what we think or believe to be rules are conventions, not actual rules.

I have chosen to follow the Australian Government Style Manual and the Macquarie Dictionary for grammar, punctuation and spelling rules. Those are what I follow.

Everything else, to me, is a convention – like too many words that end in “ly”. It’s a convention. Not ending a sentence in “with” or something like that – it’s a convention.

Not starting a sentence with “and” or “but” – it’s a convention.

And, interestingly, most of these conventions were brought about in 1700s. Or thereabouts.

What I think, then, is that the English language is an evolving language. Take the word “Google”. It used to just be a brand name for the search engine on the Internet. It’s now a word in the dictionary.

“Google” is a prime example of the English language evolving as time moves on – like it has done all its life. So many words come from different languages. English comprises of a lot of old English words, but there are an awful lot of Latin, French, German, Greek and a whole heap more.

But going back to the rules.

One thing that I have taken on as a rule is this – my first draft (the raw writing I first put down) was told to me by my characters. It’s my job to write that story down as they tell it to me.

Then every draft after that is me refining that story so that others can understand it when they read it. So that others will be engrossed and drawn in by the characters, the setting and the plot.

That’s my job. Whether I do it well is a different matter.

But that is something I’m learning every day. I do trip up sometimes and that’s when I learn even more about writing.

Writing doesn’t come to us without a lot of hard work. We work at our career – and to me, writing is a career – and we work hard to improve throughout our writing career.

Never forget – we’re not too old to learn something new.

Talk to you all next fortnight!

End of Autumn

Well, I can honestly say the chill has finally hit.

I have lit the fire – 3rd time this year – and it’s already making a difference.

This is when I find it interesting that the northern hemisphere is in the height of their summer and we’re in the depths of our winter – not that our winter is as bad as what some of you put up with.

Perth, Western Australia, has a Mediterranean climate, apparently. Southern, Mediterranean, I’d have to say. We don’t have snow, we do get rain, our air can be quite chilly and we absolutely bake over summer!

But that’s life in this amazing city. D’you know, it’s one of the most isolated capital cities in the world. The nearest capital city is 2.5 hours plane trip away and 3-odd days’ driving if you want to do that. The other nearest one is 4 days’ driving and about 4 hours flight.

And we have spectacular sunsets over the Indian Ocean. And that’s all I’m saying.

So, onto updates.

Clans in Conflict

The books are going well and I hope everyone’s enjoying them.

The Dark Road – still with the beta reader although I think it’ll be going to the editor soon.

Deadly Convergence – this is an ebook that will be going into Kindle Unlimited to start with. This is a story about Alex Travis and his partner Chris McLaren. It’s about five years before Dark Reign and I think it adds depth to Alex’s character by showing the dynamic between Chris and Alex and goes partway to explaining why Alex is so reluctant to have another partner.

Cover art is being worked on and then it will be online at Kindle Unlimited for 90 days. Maybe longer, not sure.

I have another Alex Travis story that’s being worked on now. This one includes Ryan lock and takes place as a side story to Dark Reign. Once that’s been completed it’ll go to the editor and thence for cover art. Again, this will be going to Kindle Unlimited for 90 days and then we’ll see how it goes.

I have other short stories for the series and all will be going to Kindle Unlimited. Hopefully, they will go into an anthology of short stories from Clans in Conflict.

Everything else is still working its way through things even as I write this.

Bushland Castle Productions

Okay, so, some of you may have heard that I have participated in a podcast – Finding Elara season 2.

This is has come from a new website called Bushland Castle Productions (BCP).

BCP are putting together a novella series called Otherworldly Emergence and they are looking for writers to participate in the series.

If you have a story in you that talks about emergence of creatures or powers into the mundane world, then perhaps this is for you. Check the novella series announcement here:

https://www.bushlandcastleproductions.com/emergence

I am already working on my piece for it, so join me in creating something unique in the writing world.

Feedback / Reviews

Okay, so last time I talked about settings of our worlds. This time, I want to talk about feedback – or reviews. Because receiving it can be daunting.

I remember the first piece of feedback I got and I stared at that first line with trepidation. Because it read “I don’t like vampires”, basically. As the book definitely had vampires in it, I didn’t want to read it.

And this was from a colleague who was evaluating it for publication. Needless to say, I put that feedback off for a few weeks. I gave it to a friend, complaining about it as I did, and he went through it and got back to me, telling me to read it now because it had some good points.

So, I gathered up my courage, took a deep breath and opened the feedback. And my friend was right. There was some absolute treasures in it and those treasures made Dark Dimensions much better than it had been. So, for all of those who read the first edition – you don’t want to know what the previous drafts had been like!

Fast forward to the Consequences series. I was lucky enough to get two of those books up and I didn’t even think to look at reviews – after all, I’d been brought up basically being told no-one would read my stuff. Probably, deep down, I was too scared to look.

But when I wrote a short story in which I put Marek through all 15 symptoms of emotional shock and had to go back and rewrite those two – turned out to be a very good thing as the publisher had gone out of business – I checked for reviews and found some very interesting feedback.

Now, not all of it was good, but most of it was constructive.

And that’s the best type to get – if you need it.

Because, again, I’ve taken that feedback into consideration in my rewrite and my proofreader has already given me feedback that Marek is far more well-rounded than he had been.

So, from a few bad yet constructive reviews, I was able to redefine the story, round out Marek’s character much more fully and hopefully, when it comes out this time, it’ll get a much better response.

I still look for those less-than-desirable reviews – as long as they’re constructive. Because I can use those to refine my work. To make my stories better and to provide a more enriched world for readers to enjoy.

Because reviewers are the ones who read our work. Without their input, we’ve just put words on a page. If our readers can provide constructive feedback, then if something is wrong in the story, we can fix it.

I’m still scared of reading reviews, but I am much more careful with how I use that response.

Fast forward to a year ago. I had a friend (I’d done an editing course with him) look over a story I’d written. It was raw and while he was going through it, I had already gone through 3 more drafts.

Now, he and I have very different worlds and while I didn’t use all of his feedback, I did take it into account when I rewrote it – and I took in a lot of what he said and it has made a vast difference to that story. I am still editing that, but I really do like where it’s going.

So, my advice is – if you receive negative feedback that is constructive – or a less-than-desirable review that is constructive – put it aside for a few days. Get over that sudden rush of “how dare they criticise what I wrote! It’s perfect!”

Then open it – have it alongside a duplicate copy of your work – and read it. Take into account what they’re saying – if they’ve given you a word doc – or you can highlight parts of it – highlight the parts that you think will strengthen your work.

Make your own notes on their review/feedback. Use it to hone your writing skills. Use it to give your readers a far better piece of writing.

If any out there are still Marion Zimmer Bradley fans, I will admit to having a copy of the Sword of Aldones. If I am correct, that small book was rewritten years later as Sharra’s Exile.

Sword of Aldones and Sharra’s Exile are both examples of where an author has revisited the work and realised that it could be far better. I’d say Marion did this after writing Heritage of Hastur because Regis Hastur features far more strongly in Sharra’s Exile.

Also, Sharra’s Exile brings the story directly into the Darkover series and allows it to plant its feet directly in a very powerful place in that universe.

When I read Sword of Aldones the first time, I read it for the story itself. I loved the story and the characters. It wasn’t until I’d become invested in the Darkover series that I revisited the Sword and realised that it belonged in Darkover, even though the setting was on Earth.

Having read Heritage of Hastur and then picking up Sharra’s Exile, I read them both, then went back to Sword of Aldones again and saw how much Sword was lacking and how disjointed it was. Sharra’s Exile is a perfect example of an author reworking an existing tale and retelling it in the way it should have been told from the first place. Now, I don’t know why Marion did this – either she realised it on her own as I did with Dark Dimensions, or she got a less-than-desirable review from a reader. Either way, Sharra’s Exile is the book that Sword of Aldones should have been from the start.

So, my advice is this. Don’t disregard poor reviews or feedback – unless they’re not constructive.

Don’t go and wail to the world that reviewers shouldn’t be giving out less than 5 stars. Read what those reviewers say in an objective manner. Then reread what you’ve written in that same objective manner – from a reader’s point of view.

Always, we should be reading our own work as though we are a reader. Use a text-to-speech function of your software if you can. That, surprisingly, can assist you in finding those places where a reader might shudder and throw the book away before they’ve finished it.

Because that’s the last thing you want. A reader to NOT FINISH a book because it was that bad.

If you have any doubts at all, pull together a group of friends to read the book before you publish. If you can afford it, pay a team to read it for you.

Remember, without readers, your writing will sit there stagnant.

So, finally, I’ll say it again – don’t ignore bad reviews. If they’re constructive, use them to refine your writing skills. Use them to refine your worldbuilding.

Use them to write better books.

Most importantly, don’t get into a discussion in the comments about how bad their reviews are. Because you won’t please everyone all of the time. You can only please some of the people some of the time and there are others out there who won’t like your writing.

That friend who gave me that feedback on Dark Dimensions? When I got past my angst over his opening comment, I found the comment that told me the story was worth publishing.

I grew up with my father telling me “get a real job, writing will never pay your way.” I took that to heart and only started writing fulltime 10 years ago. (In between working.)

The last time I saw my sister, one of the first things she said to me was “keep writing. You have to keep writing.” She had all my books at the time she died. For her to say that was the one thing that drove me to keep writing while being in a dark place.

But reviews and constructive feedback are your friend in the writing world. Without that feedback, we might never grow our talent and hone our skills in providing a place where people can escape from the ever-increasing heartache that is currently running rampant in some parts of the world.

Embrace the constructive reviews. Don’t belittle the reviewers, use them to improve your worlds and characters. Use them to make your plots more unique and plausible. Not everyone is out to cut you off at the knees.

But remember – writing is a joy and the more joy we can share with other people the better the world is. (So says the writer whose editor keeps threatening to take characters away from her before they get too hurt!)

Middle of the month

Where is the year going? Did I blink and miss half of March? Just kidding.

So, our weather has calmed down – nowhere near as hot, but having said that, we’ve got our first very local bushfire for about 10 years or so. We are expecting 38 Celsius, and I know they’ve jumped on the fire pretty quick, but I’ve got my aircon on to stop smoke coming in. The joys of being asthmatic. Them’s the breaks as we used to say. Other than that, I’ll keep monitoring it.

Onto news.

Stuff your Kindle

So, my books are currently available for 99c at Stuff your Kindle. So, if you want them cheap, feel free to grab them. They’ll be cheap for a few days’ more.

Kindle Unlimited

One of the stories is with the editor now. The other one will take a little longer, but that’s okay. I don’t mind that one taking a bit longer. My cover artist is champing at the bit to get his hands on this one!

The Dark Road

Still with the beta readers, so still waiting on that.

Dark Beginnings

Still on hold, but I hope to get back into it really soon.

Consequences

Heart of Deception

Again, with beta readers. Hopefully will have that back very soon. The new cover is extremely different to the other cover it had.

Legacy of Risks

Still with my friend, but early indications are that I’ve done it justice, so that’s a bonus.

Dangerous Heart

Almost done tweaking it, then it’ll go to beta readers before being sent to the publisher for a final once-over.

New universes

I have been visiting Malevictus again and toying with ideas from that. Will get into that once we get the other books published.

Paranormal

Still looking into the anthology for this one and hopefully, get more of that published as well.

I don’t have any words of wisdom regarding the English language this fortnight, but what I do want to share is something I think is important.

Most of the so-called “writing rules” are not rules. They’re conventions and conventions can be broken and go out of style.

This is why I always follow the Macquarie Dictionary (and so does my editor, so if I miss something, she usually picks it up) and the Australian Government Style Manual. There is an Australian Style Guide, however, when I started out on this journey, that wasn’t available and I’m not about to change.

For those who are not Australian, you will find my grammar and punctuation may be somewhat different to what you are used to. Please, don’t let that put you off the story or the characters. It’s all about the book, not the mechanics. (oh, dear. Yes, I did say that, even though I notice typos in what I read. Never mind. Move along. Nothing to see here.)

Anyway, must go, have lots to do and I’ll talk to you in a couple of weeks!

Take it easy and remember to breathe. That’s the most important thing you can do.

March is here!

First up – my apologies! I ran out of time for my last instalment!

Okay, updates.

Kindle Unlimited

Both stories are finished. Just waiting for beta readers still, then they’ll go to editing. Once they’ve gone through editing I’ll be able to get their covers and upload them! Excited and scared to see how they go.

Clans in Conflict

The Dark Road

Still waiting to hear back from the beta readers, but it shouldn’t be too long, now. I hate waiting. What about you?

Dark Beginnings

I am still writing this but I have given it a rest while I see what’s going on. I will get back to it, but I’d like to get The Dark Road out there first.

Consequences

Heart of Deception

Still waiting for beta readers. Again, shouldn’t be too long.

Legacy of Risks

I have actually sent this to a friend who can give me a better understanding of how this is going. Hopefully, they’ll enjoy what I have written.

Dangerous Heart

Currently tweaking this to fit with the other two books. I’d rather have it close to what they are before publishing it.

New universes

I have been working on the shifter, Alek. That has become very complicated family-wise as well. I don’t know if he and his cousin will forgive me.

Paranormal

I am looking at putting one of those into an anthology that a group I am part of is putting together this year. Just have to go through it.

The English Language

What is it with our unique language? Some words get combined while others don’t. Take the list below:

Insofar

Straightforward

Loungeroom

Bedroom

Bathroom

Nevertheless

Moreover

Moreso

Northbound

Westbound

Eastbound

Southbound

I know there are more out there – I should make a list of them! But why not the ones below:

Diningroom

What is it about those words that allows them to be combined, yet others aren’t allowed to be combined?

And what is it with spelling a word and yet the context used either has two different sounds or meanings?

Take

Lead – you either lead someone around or it’s a metal

But the metal sounds like “led”

February start

Wow! Already February! Hopefully, it won’t be as fast (I know, wishful thinking). Anyway, I have a lot of news.

Big one, big one – I have entered the Western Australian State Premier’s Writing Awards. Fingers are crossed that something will come of it.

Also, I have expanded my distribution and all 3 books will be released to other online stores on Wednesday 12 February. There are a few places I wouldn’t mind adding, but they’re emails to the company and I’ll look into that later.

That took me just about all of yesterday (Saturday)! But I got it done!

Kindle Unlimited

I have finished two stories to go into Kindle Unlimited, I’m just waiting for beta readers to have a look at those.

They’re both part of the Clans in Conflict universe and Alex Travis plays a role in those.

Clans in Conflict

I am still waiting on beta readers for The Dark Road. I’ve been promised they’re nearly finished, but I’m getting a little antsy on that.

For that reason, Dark Beginnings is still on hold. And that one I’m actually struggling with because there’s going to be a lot of politics in it and – well, that’s not really my strong point.

Consequences

Still waiting on proof readers to finish with Heart of Deception but it shouldn’t be too much longer.

I’m still editing Legacy of Risks and that’s still plodding along.

New universes

I had a quick look over Malevictus’s story yesterday and, yeah, that will need looking at before it goes out to beta readers.

And I’m still writing Alek’s story. (Don’t worry, I’m a little annoyed that it’s another Alek/Alex, too.) Poor shifter’s been through the ringer, just like his cousin.

Paranormal

I’m looking at a publishing house for the paranormal, but that will be a long way off. Any short stories will probably go under that banner as well.

New writing program

As I said last time, I have discovered Lore Forge and while I love it, I have had a few instances in the past week where it has frozen and blanked all the text. When it came back, all the text was there, but it was a little disconcerting. (Understatement – heart-pounding, sweat pouring – come on! Where are those words????)

I still like using it, though. It’s stripped back and works with my strange brain!

We’ve finally hit some cooler weather, but only until next Friday, then higher temps again. Oh, well, summer will be over soon. Like, 2 more months … then I’ll probably be complaining about the c-c-c-cold! Haha

Anyway, got some more writing to do, so have a great 2 weeks!

New year

Well, it’s almost the end of 2024!

What a year it’s been.

I’ve successfully wrenched control of one of my books from the defunct publisher and managed to publish a second edition of it. So, it’s in 2 parts, but in the future I may put out a single version so both parts are in one book. At over 160,000 words, it’s going to be a huge book.

I have also successfully published its sequel. This was due to be published by the original publisher, but I’m glad it wasn’t because I didn’t have to jump through any hoops to publish it.

So, on with news!

Clans in Conflict

As I said, Dark Dimensions Parts 1 and 2 are available to purchase from Amazon. I have yet to take it to other distributors. I’m still working on that.

Dark Reign, the sequel, is also published through Amazon and will be distributed more widely hopefully some time in the near future.

The Dark Road, the third book in the series, is with beta readers to check for its pacing, etc., and whether it actually works as a story.

Dark Beginnings – the story of Vlad the Supreme – is currently being written, but I still have a lot of other things to do before I can finish that.

Dark Dimensions Parts 1 and 2, and Dark Reign can be found here: www.amazon.com.au/dp/B0CTHRMJQW

Consequences

Heart of Deception Edition 2 has been edited and is with a beta reader to see whether they can pick up any issues with it. Cover artist is already working on the cover art for that.

Legacy of Risks is still being rewritten. It will be an edition 2 when it’s completed. That needs to go to the editor and beta readers, so it will be a while yet.

Dangerous Heart has been edited but needs tweaking, but as it has not been published it is still an edition 1.

Website

I am still working on my website rebuild. With all of the upheaval with Christmas and New Year, I didn’t really get a chance to work on it, but I will get back to it. I have built some of it but I need to really spend some time on it.

General stuff

Aircon is fixed just in time for another heat wave from Tuesday onwards! We’ve had some cooler weather which was a great respite, but now the aircon is fixed it’s much more bearable.

Hopefully, next time I’ll have more news to share with you!

In the meantime, have a safe and great New Year and talk to you in 2025 (oh, that’s scary!)!

Exciting News!

I have allocated and am one move away from registering ISBNs for Dark Dimensions Parts 1 and 2, edition 2. Which means we are one step closer. My next step is to decide when to publish. Then I can put that into the registration and that’s the registration done.

Once that is complete, I’ll be able to concentrate on Dark Reign which is the second in the Clans in Conflict series and the sequel to Dark Dimensions.

When those books are up and published, I’ll be able to work on Heart of Deception and Legacy of Risks, Consequences books 1 and 2. Due to those changes when Marek was younger, these updates have yet to go through beta readers and back through the editor to ensure enough of these make the books edition 2s.

Returning to Clans in Conflict, I have written what was the third book in that series, however, we have since realised there needs to be a book in between. I am currently working on that, however, that may have been started in the wrong point of view, so I am toying with that, also. And it may be that that becomes a novella instead of a full-sized book.

The Dark Road then becomes book 4 although I could adopt Robert J Crane’s approach and make the interim book 2.5 keeping The Dark Road as book 3. That will depend on what Robert says because I won’t step on his toes without permission. Yeah, I know, it’s probably too much to worry about, but I’d rather keep friends than make enemies.

At any rate, The Dark Road is complete and just needs beta readers to read it and then the editor.

So, swapping back again to Consequences, book 3, Dangerous Heart is finished but again needs to go to beta readers and then to the editor. Once that’s done, that will also be published.

Now, the new book that I mentioned in my past post is still with a beta reader and I am still working on the second book in that series, but that is more for the future. I don’t even have a name for that series!

So, that’s the state of the situation at the moment. More will be coming in two weeks! Now, time for something – wait, kitchen is calling!
